Janniee Wheeler, age 69, and Randall Wheeler, age 62 of York, NE, died on Friday, May 24, 2024 as a result of a car accident in York.

Janniee was born on October 17, 1954 to Carl and Betty (Ulrich) Zublis in Sioux City, Iowa. She grew up in Wayne, NE and moved to Lexington, NE in the spring of 1974. She worked at Monroe Auto in Cozad, NE for a while, worked at Rice’s Market in Lexington, NE in the deli, and cleaned in the evenings after working in the deli during the day. She then met the love of her life, got married, and moved to York in the spring of 1989. She was a daycare provider for 32 years and loved all of the kids she took care of. Janniee loved to make her cakes and was always willing to help anyone in need. She crocheted baby blankets for every grandchild born, or anyone wanting a blanket. Everywhere she went, she had her bag of yarn with her. randywheeler

His Dad and Mom took them on a mission trip to Kansas City in that bus. As a teen, he worked for Doug Long with the bees, a job he loved. He joined the Coast Guard. In Basic Training an unknown bone issue made it so he had to resign. He then worked for Hennek’s Furniture and Appliance. They sent him to Whirlpool tech school. He made the decision to attend Wyoming Technical School to become a Diesel Mechanic graduating in March of 1988. After graduation he took a job with Sahling Kenworth Trucking, in York, NE, working there for 30 plus years. Then went to work for Selden Trucking for a short time. After a work accident and recovery, he found work with York County Roads Department driving a Maintainer. Randy loved to tease and pick on people.

On March 19, 1988 Randall and Janniee got married at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington, NE. Randy welcomed, and loved Janniee’s four children. When the grandkids and great grandkids came along, he cherished all the times that were spent with them. Camping was Randy and Janniee’s favorite thing to do, it truly was their happy place. They loved Nascar races in Kansas. Nascar camping trips were the highlight, every year. Randall and Janniee will be mourned by the countless friends they met wherever they were camping.
