OBITUARY

Edward Daniel Barta Jr., 56,of Schuyler, died unexpectedly September 27, 2010 at the Schuyler Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were Thursday, September 30, at the Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler with Calvin Barta and Denver Ferguson officiating.

Visitation was held Wednesday and on Thursday, all at the North Chapel.

Burial was Friday, October 1 at Fort McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell,
Nebraska. Pallbearers were Troy Oelkers, Jerry Sabin, Warren Rice, Lloyd Barta, Jr., Chester and Harvey Thomas.

Ed was born February 7, 1954 in Lexington to Edward Sr., and Charlene (Overton) Barta. He graduated from Lexington High School in 1972. He served in the Army from 1973 to 1976.

Ed married Patsy Parsons on May 23, 1974 in Lexington and they made their home in Schuyler since 1988. Ed was a welder by trade and operated the family business Love in Action in Lexington.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and working on cars.

Ed is survived by his wife, Patsy of Schuyler; four children, Suzanne Barta of Schuyler, Edie (Mrs. Kevin) Huntley of Columbus, Edward Daniel III (Jennifer) Barta of Columbus, and Spencer Ray Barta of Schuyler; 12 grandchildren; his mother, Charlene Barta of Lexington; three brothers, Calvin (Cindy) Barta, Patrick (Julie) Barta both of Texas and David Barta and special friend Debbie Howe of Schuyler; two sisters, Elizabeth (Mrs. Harvey) Thomas of Schuyler and Patty Boeckman of Lexington.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward, Sr., and one brother-in-law, Dusty Boeckman.
