Wilmer J. Lainez-Garay, 18, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at his home.
Wilmer was born on December 22, 2001, in Lexington, Nebraska, the son of Rafael Lainez and Delmi Garay. He attended Riverside Elementary in Phoenix, Arizona until the second grade when his family moved back to Lexington where he attended Sandoz Elementary. He then went on to Lexington Middle School before he received his primary education from Lexington High School and graduated at Midterm with the class of 2020. Following graduation, Wilmer then signed on with the Army National Guard and was an active member.
Those who knew Wilmer can attest to his big heart; he was kind hearted; had a selfless soul; and spending time with his family and friends was very important to him. He enjoyed working on cars and loved his Cadillac and Mustang. He was extremely intelligent and enjoyed working on computers.
Wilmer leaves to celebrate his life; his parents, Rafael Lainez and Delmi Garay of Lexington; brothers, Rafael Garay of Lexington, Franklin Ivan Garay-Lainez of Kearney and Christopher Lainez-Garay of Lexington; girlfriend, River Htoo of Lexington; uncles, Teodoro (Solis Rivas) Lainez of Lexington, Jose-Lito Lainez of Kearney, Eli Garay of Phoenix, Arizona and Jose Garay of Los Angeles, California; aunts, Mari Lainez of Los Angeles, California, Sandra Garay of Phoenix, Arizona and Marina Garay of Phoenix, Arizona; as well as numerous cousins, extended family and a host of friends.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 5, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington; per CDC guidelines to the recommendation of 10 people or less in the facility at one time. A private funeral service will be held on Monday, April 6, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Daniel Sauer, officiating. The funeral service will be streamed live through Facebook Live on the Reynolds-Love Facebook page. Following the traditional funeral service, cremation will take place and a private inurnment will be held at a later date.
A memorial has been established in Wilmer’s honor, and kindly suggested to the family for later designation.
