Samantha Ann Rasmussen-Rich, 53, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at her home.

Samantha was born on July 18, 1968, in Syracuse, New York, to Gary and Donna (Cole) Rasmussen. She attended public schools in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1987. In 2005, Samantha graduated from Central Community College-Kearney with a degree in Nursing earning her LPN-C.

She was united in marriage to Rod Hinkle in Norton, Kansas. Two children were blessed to this union: Brandon and Tyler. They made their home in Elwood, Nebraska, where she worked at the Elwood Care Center. Their marriage would later end in divorce. In 2008, Samantha, Brandon and Tyler moved to Overton where she was employed at Tri-County Hospital (Lexington Regional Health Center).

In 2017, Samantha found love again and married, David Rich in Lexington. She was disabled with MS and retired at an early age because of her health. Samantha kept herself busy and had a passion for doing freelance photography, painting and crafts.

She enjoyed camping and fishing, especially catching catfish. She liked being part of and participating in a bowling league and pool league, which her team advanced to Las Vegas in pool. Samantha was an avid collector of Frogs and loved cats and dogs. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family and being a grandma.

Samantha in survived by her husband, David of Lexington; her boys, Brandon Hinkle of Lexington and Tyler (fiancé Jess DeLaTorre) Hinkle of Elwood; her mother, Donna Rasmussen of Lexington; step-children, Cody Rich of Kearney and Amanda (Ian) Wengler of Lexington; two grandchildren, Karson Hinkle of Lexington and Brantley Wengler of Lexington, with one grandbaby on the way; her brothers, Charles (Melanie) Weaver of Scottsbluff, Dale (Christy) Sayyaeu of Shelton, Dennis (Sherry) Hageman of Overton, Bryan Elefros of Omaha, Gary (Pam) Rasmussen, Jr. of Sweet Home, Oregon and Willy (Tracie) Rasmussen of Overton; mother-in-law, Shari Rich of Lexington; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Samantha was preceded in death by her father, Gary; and grandmother, Sue Rasmussen.

Funeral Services will be on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Anne Gahn, officiating.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Timothy McConnell, age 52, of North Platte, died at home on March 27, 2021.

Tim was born at Hermiston, OR, to Ronald and Dian McConnell on October 10, 1968, and grew up in Lexington. Following his graduation from Lexington High School, Tim attended the Law Enforcement Academy in Grand Island. He worked in law enforcement for 15 years, with the last 5 as sheriff in McPherson County, until his health declined. Tim was a member of the Sheriff's Association.

On May 26, 1990, he wed Deborah Hakenkamp in North Platte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ron and Dian; and brothers, Kelly and Michael McConnell.

Tim is survived by his wife, Deborah, of North Platte; sister, Kimberly (Wayne) Sheen, of Overton, and niece, Kaitlyn McMahon and nephew, Brian McMahon; sister-in-law, Kathy (Tom) Guggenmos, of North Platte; nieces, Michaela (Craig) Freichs and Angelea McConnell; niece-in-law, Jessica (Wes) Kincaid; nephew-in-law, Nate Briscoe (fiancé, Wendy Forry); best friend, Scott Garcia, of Lexington; and other family and friends.

Arrangements are pending with Odean Colonial Chapel at C & Sycamore.
