Bernice Pebley, 84, of Lexington, Nebraska passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.

She was born on September 15, 1936 in Lexington, Nebraska, to Wesley and Else (Rickertsen) Biehl. Bernice received her education from the Lexington Public Schools, graduating from Lexington High School with the class of 1954. She went on to further her education at the Colorado Women’s College in Denver for two years.

She was united in marriage to Phillip R. “Phil” Pebley on December 29, 1957, at the Presbyterian Church in Lexington. Two daughters were blessed to this marriage: Kristi and Lisa. Bernice was a homemaker and kept busy raising her daughters. She was a 4-H Leader and past Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, where she was also a member of the Presbyterian Women’s Club.

She enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking and was an avid reader. The couple enjoyed attending the dances at Miller in their younger years.

Survivors include her daughters, Kristi and Lisa Pebley of Lexington; brothers, Jim (Marilyn) Biehl of Lexington and Buss (Carolynn) Biehl of Kearney; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phil in 2015; nephew, Roger Biehl and great-nephew, Jason Lans.

A Graveside Service will be on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in Lexington with Reverend Eddie Mariel, officiating.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
