Evelyn J. Zabloudil, 77, of Kearney, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Home Keens Memorial.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, Oct. 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Joe Hannappel and Fr. Tom Mulowney officiating.

Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Ann’s Cemetery in Lexington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral on Monday morning.

Evelyn was born on March 31, 1937 in Ericson, to Joseph and Emma (Lehecka) Zabloudil. She graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1954. She then worked at the dental office of Anderson/Batie in Lexington and later as a housekeeper for Father Tom Mulowney and also the St. James Parish in Kearney. She went to work as a Unit Secretary at Good Samaritan Hospital in June of 1980, a position she held until her retirement in 2010. Evelyn was a dedicated member of St. James Catholic church. She enjoyed Nebraska football and volleyball and also attending the Rotary Travelogue. Family was an important part of Evelyn’s life as were her numerous close friends.

Surviving relatives include her niece, Patty (Randy) Blundel of Austin, Texas; nephews, Matt Zabloudil of Lawrence, Kan., and Steven Zabloudil of Memphis, Tenn.; godson, Zach Cunningham; Many dear friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Allen Zabloudil.

Memorials are suggested to St. James Catholic Church.
