JoAnne was born March 13, 1935, at Lexington, to Roy and Ollie (Gullick) Warren. She grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1953.

On June 2, 1953, she married Glenn Hawks at Lexington. Three children were blessed to this marriage: Scott, Jim and Lori.

When the children were growing up, JoAnne worked as a nurse's aide at Lexington Community Hospital. She also worked in the cafeterias of Morton Elementary and Lexington High School. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and Christian Women's Club.

JoAnne loved life and always had such a special twinkle in her eye. She enjoyed doing crafts and going to craft shows, crossword puzzles, word games and playing cards with her friends.

She and Glenn traveled to Branson, Mo., for vacation for the last 33 years. She so enjoyed that trip in the fall. But, her most enjoyable times were spent with family, and most especially, her grandchildren. She will be so missed.

Memorials are suggested to Grace Lutheran Church or Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
