Ronald D. Bossung, 79, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014, at CHI Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

Ron was born June 8, 1935, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Clifford and Berdena (Decker) Bossung. He was a 1952 graduate of Lexington High School and went on to further his education at Hastings College. On March 8, 1956, he joined the United States Navy, serving his Country, until being honorably discharged on March 2, 1962. He then received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska.

He was united in marriage to Leslie Banta. Two sons were born to this marriage, Michael and Scott. The marriage later ended in divorce. He then married LaJean (Soucie) Foged on January 3, 1979, in Yankton, South Dakota. Jean’s three children were welcomed to the family; Michael, Marcia and Michelle.

Agriculture was Ron’s love and he spent his entire career either running Dawson County Feed Products or farming. He retired from farming in 2001. Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Ron was a collector, enjoyed traveling, his afternoon coffee group, and wintering in Arizona. His greatest love
though was spending time with the family and following the grandchildren’s sporting and activity events.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and a true kindness and touched many hearts.

Ron is survived by his wife, LaJean Bossung of Lexington, Nebraska; their children, Michael (Debra) Bossung of Mesa, Arizona, Scott (Otilla Delgado) Brotherson of Chandler, Arizona, Michael (Holly) Foged of Glendale, Arizona, Marcia (Matthew) Hooker of Broomfield, Colorado, and Michelle (Richard) Seberger, III of Lexington, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren, Jacob Bossung of Mesa, Arizona, Zachary Bossung of Mesa, Arizona, Christian Brotherson of Chandler, Arizona, Holden Brotherson of Chandler, Arizona, Clay Brown of Glendale, Arizona, Adaline Brown of Glendale, Arizona, Ashley (Stewart) Clouse of Dallas, Texas, Brooke Bellamy of Columbus, Ohio, Chelsey (Ryan) Kulhanek of Minden, Nebraska, Tori Seberger of Kearney, Nebraska, Kathleen (Andrew) Ostrom of Lynchburg, Virginia, R.J. Seberger and fiancee’ Taylor Shotkoski of Lexington, Nebraska; seven great-grandchildren; extended family and many friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; one great-granddaughter, Leah McNeal; aunts, uncles and one cousin.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dyton Owen officiating.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 27, 2014, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to Heartland Military Museum, Lexington Volunteer Fire Department, First United Methodist Church or the Donor’s Choice.
