Larry Ray Phillippi, 78, of Crossville, Tenn., died Jan. 22, 2010 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.    

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church in Crossville.     

He was born Nov. 15, 1931 to Paul Henry and Anna Maria Katrina (Roper) Phillippi in Smithfield. Graduated in 1950 from Lexington High School.     

Mr. Phillippi served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After serving his country he worked as an engineer until retiring.     

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son Bruce (Suzanne) Phillippi of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Laura Phillippi of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandson, Sloan; brothers, Duane (Janet) Phillippi of Lexington, Gene (Mary Francis) of Ludington, Mich., and sisters, Barbara Sloboth and Dolores (Dee) Mibourn, both of Omaha.     

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to Ascension Lutheran Church in Crossville.
