Dalen “Dale” Hilbert Kopf, 94, of Buffalo passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at the Cozad Community Hospital.

Dale was born May 21, 1924 at the family home at Buffalo to Walter William and Mary (Neben) Kopf. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1942. Dale was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod and attended First Lutheran Church at Buffalo his entire life. Dale was united in marriage to LaVonne Knaggs in 1948, seventy years ago, and they settled on the home place at Buffalo. To this union five sons were born; Darrell, Robert, Phil, Jack and Fred.

Dale farmed and ranched his entire life. Dale was well respected by his family, friends and neighbors. He was known as a helpful and friendly neighbor. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Dale is survived by his wife, LaVonne of Buffalo; sons, Darrell and wife Linda of Buffalo, Phil and wife Jana of Buffalo, Jack and wife Marlea of Lincoln and Fred of Overton; nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; also surviving are many nieces, nephews, extended and many friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Wayne; siblings, Alfred Kopf, Hilda Kiesow, Lorraine Teetor and Walter Dean Kopf.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church at Buffalo with Pastor Victor Rasmussen, officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Interment will be in First Lutheran Church Cemetery at Buffalo.

Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to First Lutheran Church at Buffalo Or Cozad Community Hospital Foundation.
