Loretta J. Davis, 87, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at Lexington Regional Health Center.

Loretta was born February 1, 1927, in Gosper County, Nebraska, to H.C. “Joe” and Nina B. (Richardson) Hanson. She was a 1945 graduate of Lexington High School.

Following graduation she went to work as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell, a position she held for 25 years. She was united in marriage to Everett E. Davis on February 12, 1956, in Lexington. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Larry Dean and Janet Louise.

Loretta loved being a mother, keeping a nice home for her family and before her health prevented her from doing so, enjoyed working in the yard with Everett. Everett and Loretta enjoyed traveling to Colorado when grandson Alexander came along and those memories will always be cherished. She will be so very missed.

She was a member of LexChristian Church in Lexington.

Loretta is survived by her children; Larry Dean Davis of Brady, Nebraska; and, Janet L. Davis of Morrison, Colorado; four grandchildren; Steven and wife Mary Davis of Brady, Nebraska; Justin Davis of Missouri; Angela Kathleen Davis of Maxwell, Nebraska and Alexander Joseph Leal of Morrison, Colorado; two brothers-in-law, Homer Davis, Jr. of Elm Creek, Nebraska and Howard and wife Erlene Davis of Arapahoe, Nebraska; one sister-in-law, Georgia Ashmore of Lexington, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett on November 8, 2013; and one sister, Marie Clemans.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at LexChristian Church in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in the Robb Cemetery south of Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to LexChristian Church or Lexington Volunteer Fire Department.
