Gaile June Stark, 86, of Cozad, Nebraska, passed away Friday, September 26, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Cozad.

Gaile was born February 20, 1928, in Ogallala, Nebraska, to Byon Gordon and Una May (Crawford) Stedman. She attended school in Ogallala and Roscoe, Nebraska. She moved to Lexington her junior year in high school, where she graduated in 1945. Gaile was married to Loren L. Stark on October 29, 1946, in Norton, Kansas. Four children were blessed to this marriage; Carol, Gerald, Kathy and Ronald.

The couple moved several times throughout their married lives; living in Ft. Collins, Colorado, Loveland, Colorado, Scottsbluff, Lexington, and Cozad. While living in Scottsbluff, she worked at Gas-A-Mat. Locally she worked at J.M. McDonald’s Clothing Store in Lexington and Monroe Auto in Cozad. While living in Lexington she was past president of the Eastlawn East Addition Resident’s Association.

Gaile enjoyed reading and bowling with the Sr. Citizen league, playing cards, scrabble and many other board games. Gaile was such a nice person with a wonderful sense of humor, brave. Strong, loyal and loved having family around. She had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. Gaile will be so very missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children; Carol Gibson of Cozad, Nebraska; Kathy Stark of Cozad, Nebraska; and, Ronald and wife Carol Stark of Cozad, Nebraska; one brother, Robert and wife Sheila Stedman of Las Vegas, Nevada; eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Gaile was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren in 2000; son, Gerald; two brothers; Gordon & Jack Stedman; three sisters, Jean Parks, Donna Nelson, Mary Ann Crawford; and one great-granddaughter, Jerica.

The family has honored Gaile’s wishes for cremation. There will be no visitation.

A Memorial Celebration of Life will be held Friday, October 3, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at American Lutheran Church in Cozad, Nebraska with Pastor Mike Parsh officiating.

Inurnment will be held that same afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at Fort McPherson National Cemetery in Maxwell, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
