Boyd Ferguson, 92, of Bellevue NE, passed away on March 15, 2023, at home surrounded by his family.

A graveside service with military honors is being planned for a later date at the Omaha National Cemetery.

Boyd was born on November 2, 1930, in Lexington to Carl and Eloise (Hanna) Ferguson. He graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1948. Soon after graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and served from 1950 to 1954 mostly aboard the USS Jefferson. Upon returning home he farmed northeast of Lexington and was also a fieldman with the Farm Service Agency.

Boyd married Mary Oades in 1950. Three sons were born to that union. Mark (Michele) of Syracuse NE, Craig who is deceased and Lance (Lora) of Raymond NE. In 1979 Boyd married Donna (Erwin) Derickson who added three children to the family. Christopher (Mary) of North Platte NE, Nathaniel (Amber) of Bellevue and Katherine of Chicago.

He was a true steward of the land and enjoyed traveling throughout America, especially Alaska. He was fortunate to have good health until the last few weeks of his life.

More than anything, Boyd loved his family and is survived by wife Donna and a combined family of five children, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were son Craig, an infant daughter, brother Keith and his parents.

Roeder Mortuary of Omaha, is in charge of arrangements.
