She served as the Definitely Abled Representative on the Board of Lyon (Lutheran Youth of Nebraska.) Carly was involved with Muscular Dystrophy Camps for several years throughout Nebraska. She loved music, spending time on the computer, and most of all spending time with her family, especially camping. Her focus was always to involve others in her life. Even though, Carly was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy when she was young, she never wanted pity from others and always considered herself as "capable" not handi-capped. Carly's care and concern involved all of God's creation, she had a special place in her heart for animals.
Following her education, Carly met the love of her life and her soul mate, Brad Roggie. They lived in Lexington for a few years, until moving to Holdrege in 2005. The couple were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Taylissa born May 22, 2007.
