David John Hardesty, 32, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, May 12, 2014, at his home near Lexington.

He was born September 14, 1981, in Lexington, Nebraska to Glenn and Jeannette (Marousek) Hardesty. He attended school at Lexington until his senior year when he moved to Lincoln to live with his brother and sister-in-law. It was in Lincoln he obtained his GED. David lived several places prior to returning home to Lexington in May of 2013.

When David moved back to Lexington he started landscaping. This was one of his greatest joys, to be outside mowing and creating beautiful yards.

David loved all sports; football, especially the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Nascar, Dale, Jr., UConn and Miami. He loved his music too. Most important to him though was his family, his friends, his nephews, and Kristin and Gunnar. David was a nice guy, a deep thinker and always respectful. He will be so very missed.

Survivors include his father and stepmother; Glenn and Jan Hardesty of Lexington, Nebraska; stepfather and his special friend; Jim Wells and Penny Carpenter of Lexington, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, Dereik and Jessie Hardesty of Kearney, Nebraska along with their sons, Garrett and Asher; grandfather; Hap Hardesty of Lexington, Nebraska; two stepbrothers; Dennis and Kim Wells of Grand Island, Nebraska; and, Bryce Boelman and special friend Kristy Wolfe of Lexington, Nebraska; two stepsisters; Deb and Mike Bossung of Mesa, Arizona; and, Dionne and Steve Pugh of Queen Creek, Arizona; special family friends; Kristin and Gunnar Price of Lexington, Nebraska; step-nieces, step-nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends.

David was preceded in death by his two grandmothers, one grandfather and mother, Jean Wells.

David’s body has been cremated.

A Memorial Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Dr. Dyton Owen officiating.

Register Book Signing will be Friday, May 16, 2014, from 6-8 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Inurnment will be in the Hewitt Cemetery north of Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to the Family for later designation.
