Kristi (Hennek) Strohmyer, 66, of Gothenburg had her final earthly chapter written in Gothenburg on Thursday, August 26, 2021.

Kristi was born to Gene and Darlene (Blevins) Hennek on September 6, 1954 in Lexington. She graduated from Lexington High School and the Grand Island School of Business.

Kris married Randy Strohmyer February 3, 1973. To this union, the couple were blessed with three children; Dan, Katie and Brinton.

Kristi served the Gothenburg, Nebraska Community personally and professionally for over forty years.

Missing her greatly are her mother, Darlene; husband, Randy; sons, Dan (Karin) Strohmyer and Brinton (Amber) Strohmyer; daughter, Katie (Jesse) Kincheloe; Kris’s cherished grandchildren; Erin, Nate, Carter, Kallie, Emmett and Olivia; also mourning her loss are her brothers, Rod (Lynne) Hennek and Tom Hennek; sisters, Jayne (Mark) Meyer, Patty (Mike) Mandelko and Mary (Scott) Hofferber. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Kris will be sorely missed by Gus, her chocolate lab.

Kris joins her father, Gene Hennek.

Most who knew her, cared for her deeply. Those who knew her well, loved her. Kris’s legacy of love will live on in family and friends.

A Memorial Prayer service will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington.

Mass Of Christian Burial will be held Monday, August 30, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington with Father Jose Chavez and Father Don O’Brien, officiating. The Mass will be live streamed via the Reynolds Love Facebook page.

Following county health measure guidelines, fully vaccinated people are not required to wear a mask, but it is at your discretion.

Inurnment will be in the Robb Cemetery, south of Lexington.

In honoring Kris’s wishes, memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to Pancreatic Cancer Research, Chemo Comfort Totes Of Nebraska, St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Lexington or Our Lady Of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Gothenburg.
