William Robb Jeffrey, Jr., 76, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Plum Creek Healthcare Community in Lexington.

Robb was born January 25, 1938, in Lexington, Nebraska, to William Robb and Doris (Spear) Jeffrey, Sr. He was a Lexington High School graduate with the class of 1957, and went on to further his education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, where he earned a Letter in collegiate shooting sports.

In 1959, Robb joined the Nebraska National Guard where he served for 30 years. He was active in the National Guard Rifle and Pistol Teams, where he attained the highest award for marksmanship. He retired as 1st Sgt. of the Lexington Unit. During those years he also ranched. Robb was an accomplished pilot and in later years he flew his Power-parachute.

Robb was a lifetime member of the NRA, where he achieved the 2nd highest level of distinction in the organization. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge in Cozad and the Eagles Club in Lexington.

You could find Robb at his “office” AKA the Lakota playing cards on a daily basis with his buddies. He also enjoyed his special black angus rib-eye steaks, collecting coins, traveling, shooting, being with his beloved four-legged companions, or telling stories to whoever would listen.

After 22 years of dating he married the love of his life, Sandy Skala Shreves, on August 10, 2003. Sandy passed away December 16, 2004. Sandy’s daughter, Lisa was welcomed with open arms into the Jeffrey family, as well as her husband and two sons.

There will always be only one Robb in this world and he is now telling his special stories to whoever will listen up above. Good-Bye and God speed, dear friend.

Robb is survived by his stepdaughter; Lisa and husband Michael Romine of Keller, Texas; two step-grandsons; Austin and Avery Romine; sister, Kyle and husband John Seese of Battlement, Colorado; nephew; William Robb Jeffrey, III and wife Nancy of St. Charles, Missouri; two grandnephews; William Robb Jeffrey, IV and Carson Jeffrey of Lakewood, Colorado; many cousins, extended family members and friends.

Robb was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Sandy.

The family wishes to express their sincere Thank you to Truman A. “Tab” and wife Terri Burch and their family of Lexington for their kindness shown to Robb through the years.

Funeral Services will be Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Chapel in Lexington with Reverend Caroline Vickery officiating.

Cremation will follow the service with Inurnment to be held later in Robb Cemetery south of Lexington.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 4, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.

Memorials are suggested to Lexington Regional Health Center Hospice, Robb Cemetery, or the Donor’s Choice.
