Daniel C. Dorwart, age 75, of Plymouth. Loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died of pneumonia Saturday, March 8, 2008 surrounded by those who loved him dearly.

Preceded in death by his son, Danny.

Survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathy; children, Amy Thering and her husband Ray, MaryBeth Heilman and her husband Mark, Michael Dorwart and his wife Nancy, Dr. Andrew Dorwart and his wife Dr. Kathy, Sara Kenefick and her husband Mike, Philip Dorwart and his wife Desiree and foster son, Tao Nguyen and his wife HongHanh; 14 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Harry Dorwart; sister, Penny Dorwart; as well as many other loving relatives and friends.

Daniel was born August 15, 1932 in Lexington, Nebraska. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, loved his family, football and boating and had a strong faith in God. He was affectionately known as "Poppy" to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at the Church of the Holy Name of Jesus, 155 County Road 24, Medina, Minnesota 55391, with visitation one hour prior to mass at church. Larry Ray Phillippi, 78, of Crossville, Tenn., died Jan. 22, 2010 at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.    

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church in Crossville.     

He was born Nov. 15, 1931 to Paul Henry and Anna Maria Katrina (Roper) Phillippi in Smithfield. Graduated in 1950 from Lexington High School.     

Mr. Phillippi served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. After serving his country he worked as an engineer until retiring.     

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; son Bruce (Suzanne) Phillippi of Dayton, Ohio; daughter, Laura Phillippi of Sioux Falls, S.D.; grandson, Sloan; brothers, Duane (Janet) Phillippi of Lexington, Gene (Mary Francis) of Ludington, Mich., and sisters, Barbara Sloboth and Dolores (Dee) Mibourn, both of Omaha.     

Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to Ascension Lutheran Church in Crossville.

Marilyn J. Larsen, 77, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, August 10, 2010, at Plum Creek Care Center in Lexington.    

She was born April 9, 1933, at Lexington, Nebraska to Daniel and Mildred (Martin) Roether. Marilyn attended school at Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1950. During high school Marilyn worked at Westerman's Drug Store and Lexington Floral.     

Marilyn was united in marriage to James Larsen on September 10, 1950, at Lexington. Two children were blessed to this marriage; Ann and Chris.     Marilyn always enjoyed keeping a beautiful home, entertaining and would jump at the chance to help a friend with their children's graduations or weddings. She spent many years as Hospitality Coordinator at the First United Methodist Church, worked for the election commission at District #15 school for many years and kept the books for Larsen Land & Livestock since becoming incorporated in 1976.     

She loved collecting antiques, especially pottery and when the children were young she could be found helping with 4-H projects and serving at 4-H leader for several years. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church.     

Marilyn was a lovely lady who will always be remembered for her love of family, her hospitality and her generosity.     

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years: James Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, One son and daughter-in-law: Chris (Kira) Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, One daughter and son-in-law: Ann (Frank) Albertson of Lakewood, Colorado, Three Grandchildren: Jamie (Joseph, III) Adessa, of Watkins, Colorado; Nathan R. Philips and partner, Jenifer Mettler of Lincoln, Nebraska; Ashley Larsen of Lexington, Nebraska, Six great-grandchildren: Jaelyn, Jacob, Taylor & Lily Philips of Lincoln, Nebraska and Joseph, IV and Jaden Adessa of Watkins, Colorado, Uncle & Aunt: Henry and LaRue Roether of Lexington, Nebraska, One niece, two nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many friends.     

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; Marvin and Ernest in infancy and one nephew.    

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Monday, August 16, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with Reverend Thane Moore officiating. Burial will be held prior to the Memorial Service at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, August 15, 2010, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington. Orville Lee Rieker, 79, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Sunday, January 1, 2012, at Lexington Regional Medical Center in Lexington.     

He was born August 20, 1932, in Eustis, Nebraska to Albert Rieker and Esther Roether Rieker. Orville was the youngest of three children. He was baptized into the family of God at St. John Lutheran Church in Eustis on November 20, 1932, and confirmed his faith in Jesus on May 26, 1946, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington.     

His family lived in Eustis until 1940 when they moved to Sutherland until 1944. From Sutherland, they moved east to Lexington to Joslyn, and in 1958, Orville, his brother, Dean, and his father purchased the ranch near the Buffalo community north of Lexington. Orville married Joan Pedersen on Sunday, December 28, 1959 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lexington. He resided on the ranch until January 2010, when he moved to Park Avenue Estates in Lexington.     

Orville graduated from Lexington High School in 1950. After high school he hauled hay into Kansas. On March 4, 1953, Orville enlisted in the United States Army and finished his tour with the rank of Sergeant 1st Class. Orville served as a cook in Company G 85th Regiment in Fort Riley, Kansas; and was about to be deployed to the Korean Conflict when the armistice was signed. He was released from active duty in January, 1955, and continued in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Orville was very proud of his military service, and served as the Commander for Legion Post #250 in Oconto, NE for many years.     

Orville spent his life helping others from picking watermelon, to helping the neighbor work cattle, to putting up hay. He served on the Farm Bureau Board for over 20 years; and as the President of the AAL/Thrivent for Lutherans. He was one of the original members of the Oconto Rural Fire Dept., and was active up until last year. Anyone new to the neighborhood soon met Orville with an offer to help with anything they might need. Orville served First Lutheran Church, filling many offices over the years.     

Orville is survived by his daughter Peggy Volzke and husband Rev. Greg Volzke of rural Juniata, NE, daughter Bonnie Bennett of Grand Island, NE, son Paul Rieker and wife Cathy of rural Lexington, NE, 8 grandchildren Joelle Knott and husband Andy of Minden, NE, Evan Volzke and fiance' Krista Hollister, Ethan Volzke, Lauren Volzke all of Juniata, NE, Noelle Burns and husband Bret of Lincoln, NE, Dustin Bennett of Kearney, NE, Cody and Tyrel Rieker of rural Lexington, NE; 4 great-grandchildren Hali Knott, Kianna Hellbusch, Olivia Burns, and Brandon Burns; as well as, many nieces and nephews.     

Orville was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joan, brother Dean, and sister Alberta Freed.     

Services will be Friday, January 6, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at First Lutheran Church at Buffalo, NE with Rev. Victor Rasmussen officiating.     

Interment will be in the church cemetery with Military Honors by Legion Post #250. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 5, 2012, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.

Bonnie R. Tuma, 80, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014, at Lexington Regional Health Center.     

She was born March 30, 1933, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Ray L. and Lorena J. (Hanson) Scott. Bonnie moved with her folks at the age of 3 north of Lexington and started school at rural District #59. She graduated from the 8th grade and went onto attend Lexington High School, graduating in 1950. While in high school Bonnie worked as a Nurses' Aide at the Lexington Hospital and an Usher at the Majestic Theater. She then moved to California for a time.     

Bonnie was united in marriage to Donald Tuma on September 14, 1957, in Lexington. In 1958, they moved to Lincoln where she was employed by IBEW Local #265. They returned to Lexington in 1973.     

Throughout the years Bonnie worked at David Harem Feeds, Roberts Cattle Company, Dawson County Feeds and the Lexington Livestock Market.     

Always busy, Bonnie enjoyed reading, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, sewing and crocheting. Her greatest joy was time spent with her family.     She is survived by her husband of 57 years; Donald Tuma of Lexington, Nebraska; children; Don Tuma of Lexington, Nebraska; Cathy (Max) Reynolds of Lexington, Nebraska; and, Mike (Evelyn) Tuma and their son, Jacob of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren; Matthew Tuma of Springfield, Missouri; Stephanie Tuma and children, Jolean, Mitchell and Jocelyn of Elk City, Oklahoma.     

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents.     

The family has honored Bonnie's wishes for cremation.    

A Family Memorial Service will be held at a later date. A Memorial may be made in her memory to the Donor's Choice.
