Vora Elaine (Garrison) Pearson died Sept. 15, 2015 in Riverbank, Calif.

Born Nov. 9, 1918 to David and Leva Garrison in Lexington she preferred to be called Elaine.

Elaine attended rural one room school No. 59 in Dawson county near the family farm. She graduated from Lexington high school in 1935. She graduated from Hastings College in 1940 with a bachelor of arts degree and earned a masters degree of arts from Pasadena College in 1967.

Elaine was married to Harold E. Pearson on June 2, 1941. They had a son, Danny, born on Aug. 12, 1942. Professionally Elaine taught school in Nebraska for six years before she and her family moved to Lancaster, Calif., in 1948 where she taught school on the elementary level for 27 years for the Lancaster school district.
Elaine was a member and past president of the Lancaster teachers association, American Association of University Women, Delta Kappa Gamma, the Daughters of the American Revolution, United Methodist church, Sunshine chapter of Eastern Star in Lancaster where she was the soloist for the Colonial Degree.

She is survived by her son Dr. Danny D. Pearson, her daughter-in-law Alysa K. Pearson, her granddaughter Lisa Gemetti, and her grandsons Alex Gemetti, Benny Gemetti and Jack Gemetti.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents David and Leva Garrison, her husband Harold E. Pearson, and her grandson David Thomas Harold Danny Pearson.

Elaine’s sense of humor, her love of music, and devotion to her family will be missed.
