Marjorie Jane Kopf, 87, of Lincoln, Nebraska, former Lexington resident, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014, at BryanLGH Medical Center in Lincoln. She had been a resident of Eastmont Towers in Lincoln since 2008.

She was born January 6, 1927, in Lexington, Nebraska, to Warren B. and Stella Mae (Watkins) Reynolds. She attended school at Lexington where she graduated in 1945. She then went onto further her education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, graduating with a BA in Home Economics. She worked for a time at Hazel’s Town & Country in Lexington.

Marjorie was united in marriage to Harold W. Kopf on June 12, 1949, in Lexington. Three children were blessed to this marriage; Barry, Jodi, and Kris. The family lived on the farm northwest of Lexington for many years where the children were raised. Upon retirement Harold & Marge moved to town.

Marjorie was a lifetime Artist who won many awards; she was also an avid gardener. Always active, she was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington, as well as the L.W.M.L., Investment Club, Studio 25, A.R.T., Lexington Painting Club, and helping bereaved women through art therapy. She mentored many young women as a 4-H leader and delivered Meals-on-wheels for years.

She always had a kind word and warm smile for all she came in contact with and taught her children and grandchildren the solid values she held near and dear to her heart. Marjorie will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her children; Barry and wife Patricia Stevens-Kopf of Omaha, Nebraska; Jodi and husband Steve Neal of Wheatridge, Colorado; and, Kris Rosenow of Elmwood, Nebraska; five grandchildren; Kelli Kopf of Denver, Colorado; Ryan Rosenow of Lincoln, Nebraska; Tyler Rosenow of Elmwood, Nebraska; A.J. Gurule’ of Broomfield, Colorado; and, Andre’ and Cara Gurule’ of Denver, Colorado; three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Reynolds of Lexington, Nebraska and Joan Kopf of Minden, Nebraska; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Harold; brother, Norman Reynolds; son-in-law, Robert Rosenow as well as brother-in-law, Delbert Kopf.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, July 14, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lexington with Pastor Rob Kuefner officiating.

Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery near Lexington.

Visitation will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014, from 2-4 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Chapel in Lexington.
