Nichole Sherae Stombaugh 1978-2022

Nichole (Niki) Sherae Stombaugh, 43, passed away June 30,2022 at Oklahoma University Hospital in Oklahoma City.

Niki was born Aug 3, 1978, in Lexington, NE to Jay and Linda Stombaugh. She attended elementary school at the Horse Shoe Bend and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1997.

Niki was united in marriage Sept 1999 to Chris Strange. To this union two children were born, Jayce and Avery. The marriage ended in divorce

Niki was employed by Cort Furniture in Oklahoma City where she was very successful in sales and staging.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jayce Strange, and daughter, Avery Strange, of Oklahoma City; Father, Jay Stombaugh of Lexington; Mother, Linda Wolfe of Oklahoma City; Sister, Tiffany Godwin and niece Ruby Godwin (Mancos, CO), Step-Mother, Sharon Stombaugh, Mother-In-Law, Mary Strange and a host of family and friends.

 

On Dec. 6, 2018, Chad Smith, beloved husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, died at the young age of 40.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Chad was born March 10, 1978 in Lexington, to Allen and Anita Smith. Chad graduated in 1997 from Lexington Senior High School. While in high school, Chad worked at McDonald's, where he met Brenda Holbrook. They lived together, for many years in Nebraska. They moved in 2002 to South Dakota. They were joined in marriage on April 26, 2008 in Springfield, S. D. Chad and Brenda were avid dog lovers, so they adopted 4-legged fur babies to join their family. They were blessed with Dakota, Chance and Snickers.

Chad loved to cook, it was his passion. He enjoyed working for many years as a chef. Chad loved the outdoors, he enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting when he could. He loved spending time with family and friends just sitting, chilling, relaxing, having fun and telling stories. In fact, Chad's favorite pastime was sitting around an open fire, cooking, while being surrounded by family, pets and friends having a wonderful time.

Chad was preceded in death by his father Allen Smith and grandparents Gene and Pearl Smith also Ray Kehl. Also he was preceded in death by Dakota and Chance, two of his fur babies.

He is survived by his  companion dog and fur baby Snickers, wife, Brenda Smith of Lincoln; his mother, Anita Smith of Elwood; grandmother, Lois Kehl of Lexington;  in-laws, Gene and Bonnie Holbrook of Lexington; sisters, Autumn (Dustin) Johnson of Wilcox and Crystal (Jeff) Heier of Yankton, S. D.; aunts, Pam Spiehs of Gentry, Ark., Janet Henderson of Kearney, Terry (Errol) Mogler of Bedford, Iowa,  Michelle (Jim) Yeck of  Council Bluffs, Iowa; uncle, Rich Kehl of Broken Bow. Chad is also survived my many extended family members, nephews, nieces, cousins.

Jason Alen Vance, 32, of Lexington, Nebraska, passed away Monday, November 28, 2011, at his home near Lexington.
He was born July 18, 1979, in Kearney, Nebraska to Clyde and Rose (Else) Vance. Jason attended grade school at Horseshoe Bend, Pershing Elementary and graduated from Lexington High School with the class of 1997.
Following graduation, Jason attended Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte, where he studied auto body repair. He worked for Orthman Manufacturing, IBP and his last job was working on the pipeline. He was an excellent welder and excelled at this vocation.
Jason was united in marriage to Kerri Glanzer in July of 2005. Three children were blessed to this marriage, Lazzerous, Addison and Caroline. The couple later divorced, but remained close because of their three children.
Jason was into many things, namely anything to do with mechanics, building go-carts and motorcycles for his kids, being outdoors and welding. He also loved to travel, taking the kids fishing and camping and just living life.
Jason achieved a brown-belt in Tae Kwon Do and was an assistant instructor. He will be so missed by his loving family and his large circle of friends.
Survivors include his children: Lazzerous, Addison and Caroline Vance all at home. His parents: Clyde "Butch" and Rose Vance of Lexington, Nebraska. One brother: Adam Vance of Ogallala. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Jason was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandma and one uncle, David.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor K.C. BeDunnah officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.
Following the funeral service, Jason's body will be cremated. His ashes will be inurned in the Greenwood Cemetery near his grandparents.
