Nebraskan drowns in canal
Lexington (UPI) - The U.S. Army notified Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wenburg, Lexington of the death of their son, Pvt. 1st Class Dale A. Wenburg, 19.
Authorities said Wenburg, who was stationed in the Panama Canal zone, was swept off a coral reef and drowned June 19.
Wenburg's parents were notified Wednesday that their son's body had been recovered.
Wenburg was attempting to rescue a person injured in a landslide while climbing a cliff near the coral reef when he was swept away, authorities said.

UPDATE: April 2007 Dale's name will be added to a memorial wall in Washington, D.C. with a Candlelight Vigil on May 13, 2007 and a Wreath Laying Ceremony on May 15, 2007.
