William D. Linn, 60, of Lexington, died Wednesday, May 19, 2010, surrounded by his family at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha.     

Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Lexington with the Rev. Todd Karges officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation was Friday, May 21, 2010, at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington.     

He was born Sept. 12, 1949, at Lexington, to Laverne M. and Irene (Conner) Linn.  

Bill attended country school at District No. 52, then moved into Lexington and attended Bryan Elementary, Lexington Jr. High, and Lexington Sr. High, graduating in 1967.  During high school Bill was class vice-president all four years, was in the junior and senior class plays, he participated in football and wrestling and was Southwest Conference Honorable Mention football guard as a senior. Bill then attended Kearney State College, graduating with a B.S. in business administration and a minor in psychology.     

During high school Bill worked at the Warner Texaco Service Station, the Lexington CO-OP and Midway Supply. Following college he was a customer service rep and loan officer for Commercial Credit Corporation in Omaha, was a stockbroker for A.G. Edwards and First National Bank, downtown Omaha. In 1976, he became a partner in the Dan Grafton Agency in downtown Lexington, which later merged with Barrett-Housel Company and then Pinnacle Agency. He was an insurance agent, real estate broker and appraiser at the time of his death.   He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Dawson County Realtors, and Lexington Chamber of Commerce, where he served on the Board of Directors and was past president of the Lexington Diplomats.   

Bill was always active in his community and at home. He loved to hunt, take care of his dog, enjoyed woodcarving, fixing anything that needed fixed and was never far away from a good story. He was a man of integrity and every job done, was a job done first-class and worth doing well.     

Survivors include his wife, Linda Linn; mother, Irene Linn, both of Lexington; daughters, Tara (Marc) Wisdom of Omaha and their daughters, Cali and Leah, Lori Linn of Omaha; stepson, Matt (Jackie) Wright of Lincoln, and their children, Alex, Max and Emmett; stepdaughter, Shelley (Travis) Sund of Lexington, and their daughters, Addison and Harley; brother:  Bob (Sandy) Linn of Omaha; nephew, Roger (Shari) Linn of Omaha, and their children, Amanda, Mickayla and Roger; parents-in-law, Max and Marge Kitsmiller; brother-in-law, Mike Kitsmiller ; sister-in-law, Barb Rhone, all of Lexington, as well as other relatives and many friends.     

Bill was preceded in death by his father, Laverne.     

Memorials are suggested to the Linn family for later designation.
