Fay M. Maloley, 74, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Thursday, Oct. 5, 2006, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington. Services will be held Monday, Oct. 9, at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Lexington, with Reverend Todd Karges, officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 8, from 2-5 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.   

He is survived by his wife, Kay Maloley of Lexington; sons, Fred (Pam) Maloley of Lexington, Paul (Kim) Maloley of Gardendale, Ala., Mike Maloley of Lexington; daughters, Julie (Michael) Exstrom of Cheyenne, Wyo., Beth (Chris) Forcade of Omaha, Lori (Marc) Hock of Grand Island, Jennifer Maloley and Chris Leet of Lincoln; one brother, George Maloley of Lexington; one sister, Sally (Jim) Meehan of Denver; 15 grandchildren, Tasha (Ken) Hamilton, Stephanie Maloley, Neal Maloley, Isaac, Amelia Maloley, Eric, Darin and Melanie Exstrom, Nate and Drew Price, Ethan and Joseph Forcade, Miles and Logan Hock and Juniper Leet; two great-grandchildren, Madyson Maloley and Terran Hamilton.     

Fay was preceded in death by his parents, grandson, Donald and brothers, Esa and Anthony.     

He was born March 21, 1932, in Lexington to Assad Fred and Julia (Sadd) Maloley.     

Fay grew up east of Lexington where he attended District 17 country school and then Lexington High School.     

Following his schooling, he farmed the Maloley ground and then entered the United States Army in October of 1952. He served in Korea and was honorably discharged in August of 1954. Upon his return to Lexington he continued to farm.     

He married Kay Slater on April 13, 1957, at Grand Island. Seven children were blessed to this union. The family moved to Wyoming for one year while Fay worked at the State Training Facility for the Handicapped doing their gardening and farming. They returned to Lexington where they lived on the farm until his death.     

Fay was a member of St. George Orthodox Church in Kearney and the First United Methodist Church in Lexington. He also was a past Commander of the VFW in Lexington and the Vice-Commander for the Disabled American Veterans.
