David Bruce Bryan, 44, of Omaha died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at Tri-County Hospital in Lexington following a brief illness.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Grace Lutheran Church in Lexington. Pastor Megan Morrow of Lexington and the Rev. Gordan Elrick and the Rev. Lucy Elrick, both of Clive, Iowa, will officiate.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9, at Reynolds Love Funeral Home in Lexington. Inurnment will be at a later date.
Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
David was born Sept. 8, 1960, to Bruce and Susan (Holen) Ebmeier in Lexington. David was adopted by Jerry Bryan on Feb. 7, 1967.
Survivors include his daughter, Lindsey Bryan, and her mother, Becky Bryan, both of Omaha; his mother, Susan Bryan of Lexington; his father and stepmother, Bruce and Beth Ebmeier of Sun Lakes, Ariz.; four sisters and three brothers-in-law, Cheri Gehle of Overton; Carolyn and Dan Kuhle of Lincoln; Diane and Alan Saunders of Lexington; and Cheri and Dan Trumble of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, Chris and Barbara Bryan of Lincoln.
Other survivors include his grandfather, Kenneth Holen of Lexington; his uncle and aunt, Bill and Nance Holen of Johnson Lake; two aunts and uncles, Patty and Marvin Holen-Feldman of Kansas City, Kan.; and Sandy and Tim Johnson of Omaha; his nieces and nephews Aaron, Casey,
Emily, Jennifer, Jessica, Kaitlyn, Nathan, Preston, Stephanie, Trevor and Tristan; great-niece, Kaylie and great-nephew, Noah.
He graduated from Lexington High School in 1979. During his high school years, he was a member of the Plum Creekers Mounted Drill Team.
After graduation he attended Dana College at Blair where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. During college, he was very active in the Young Republicans.
He made Omaha his home. He first worked for Burroughs Corp./Unisys selling large computer systems, eventually becoming co-owner of Data Support Systems.
Preceding him in death were his dad, Jerry Bryan; his brother, Craig Bryan; his niece, Emily Trumble; and his grandparents, Lucille Holen, Harold and Lillian Bryan and William and Edna Ebmeier. Memorials are suggested to the Bryan Family for Lindsey's college education.
